We used the onboarding process for this client as an opportunity to have an in-depth look into other competitors within this busy market space. Pairing these findings with what we also learnt about our customers, we were able to craft a bespoke launch strategy with specific copy and content to suit hand-picked audiences within the top, middle and bottom campaigns of our funnel.


Optimising What Already Works


As well as launching our own strategy, it was essential that we optimised what was already working here. As this client had already had success with their own ads, they had a huge amount of data for us to work with. A large part of our launch plan was to also take a look inside the account, be inspired by existing performing audiences, and ensure the account was optimised to the highest standards.


We adjusted budgets on top performing ad sets, switched off ads that simply weren't working and ensured we made appropriate room for launching our new ads.

Our Ongoing Strategy

We started our work together in February 2021, which meant we had the majority of the year to test and experiment. The joy of starting to work with a client in Q1 is that we have every important time period ahead of us with proper time in place to plan, meaning we can execute the perfect strategy. Our strategy with this client was to optimise and test. We took a look at what was working for them already and then built on it. Our most popular audiences for 2021 ended up being:


Females, based in the US, aged 18 - 65+, interested in horse care, horse shows and horse trainers.


We tested a total of 325 ad sets in 2021.


We added new copy and content to the account on a weekly basis. We learnt that the tone of voice for this brand was informative, educational and hugely product-focused. Our customers were knowledgable and understood the relevant jargon and terminology, so it made sense to speak to them in this language. Below are our top 3 performing ad copies of 2021:

Alongside top performing copy, we also quickly discovered that raw videos of the product in use were our best-performing type of content. We had a bank of video content provided by the client and their customers, however we tested this alongside edited concepts too.
